JEWELRY CARE
To keep your jewelry in the best condition, you should remove jewelry before bathing, swimming (avoid chlorine/saltwater), exercising, and sleeping. You should not let your jewelry come in contact with lotions, perfumes, oils, hairspray, sunscreen, and sanitizers.
Keep your jewelry clean with a soft, 100% microfiber or cotton cloth. Store jewelry in a cool, dry place like the pouch your jewelry will arrive in.
GOLD-FILLED
Gold-filled jewelry is composed of a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded to either sterling silver or another base metal. Gold-fill is durable and a great alternative to solid gold.
While gold-filled jewelry is resistant to tarnishing and can withstand water (excluding chlorine/saltwater), we recommend following the general care tips above to keep your gold-filled jewelry in the best condition.
GOLD PLATEDGold-plated jewelry is a layer of gold plated over a base metal. Our gold-plated jewelry is plated over sterling silver. Gold plated jewelry should last a long time with the proper care, however, gold plating can wear off over time exposing the sterling silver underneath.
Gold-plated jewelry should never be exposed to water, sweat, and chemicals (perfumes, oils, lotions, etc.). You should thoroughly dry your gold-plated jewelry if it does come in contact with water.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver that contains 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals. Sterling silver is a durable and lightweight metal. We recommend following the general care tips above to keep your sterling silver jewelry in the best condition.
